Compare Web Services is a free comparison service and an independent introducer. We are not web design and development agencies ourselves — we pass your enquiry to providers in our network, who pay us a fee for the introduction. Compare Web Services is a trading name of Lead Locators Ltd, part of the Lead Locators group.
1. Who we are
Compare Web Services is a trading name of Lead Locators Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 16210284, with its registered office at Suite 8 Stapleford Business Hub, 1 Toton Lane, Stapleford, Nottingham, NG9 7JQ.
Lead Locators Ltd is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy, and is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) under reference ZC206767. For any question about your data, or to exercise any of your rights, contact us at contact@leadlocators.co.uk.
2. What this service does, and what happens to your details
This is the most important part of this policy, so we have put it near the top.
Compare Web Services is a free comparison service. We do not provide web design services ourselves. When you submit an enquiry, we pass the details you give us to up to four web design and development agencies from our network, so that they can contact you about your enquiry.
Those companies pay us a fee for that introduction. That is how the service is free for you to use.
Once your details are passed on, each of those companies becomes an independent data controller and is responsible for how it uses your information. We do not add you to general marketing lists, and we do not sell your details to data brokers.
3. What we collect
- What you tell us: your name, email address, telephone number, postcode, and your answers to the questions on the enquiry form.
- Technical information: your IP address, browser and device type, and the pages you visited, collected through cookies and analytics.
- A record of your consent: the date and time, your IP address, the page you were on, and the wording you agreed to.

5. Who we share your information with
- Up to four web design and development agencies matched to your enquiry.
- Lead Locators Ltd, which operates this website and our other comparison brands.
- Suppliers who help us run the service: our website host, form software, email provider, analytics provider and automation tools. They act on our instructions only.
- Law enforcement, regulators or courts, where we are legally required to do so.
6. How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details for 24 months from the date of your enquiry. We keep records of consent for a further 24 months beyond that, so that we can demonstrate that consent was properly obtained. Analytics data is retained according to the settings in our analytics provider.
7. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to: obtain a copy of your data; have inaccurate data corrected; have your data erased; restrict or object to how we use it; receive it in a portable format; and withdraw consent at any time.
To exercise any of these, email contact@leadlocators.co.uk. We will respond within one month.
Please note that once your details have been passed to a provider, you will also need to contact that company directly about the data it holds. If you ask us, we will tell you which companies received your details and when.
8. Withdrawing your consent
You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing contact@leadlocators.co.uk. We will stop passing your details to providers, tell you which providers already received them, and confirm when this is done. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything done before you withdrew it.
9. Cookies
We use essential cookies to make the site work, and — only with your consent — analytics cookies to understand how the site is used. You can change your choice at any time using the cookie settings link in our footer.
10. Where your data is held
Your data is stored on servers within the UK or European Economic Area. Some of our suppliers — for example our analytics provider — may process data outside the UK/EEA. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement.
11. Automated decision-making
We use your answers to match you with suitable providers. This does not produce any legal effect for you, and no decision about you is made by automated means alone.
12. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please contact us first at contact@leadlocators.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
13. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. Where changes are significant we will say so clearly on the website.
